Editing & Submission

Please register your interest for this course by clicking the Enquire button. When we have sufficient numbers we will work with registrants to timetable the course. You will need a finished draft of a novel, memoir or book of short stories to join this course. Any draft stage is fine (1st, 5th etc!) but you do need to have a completed draft to bring along.

In this 6 week course, you will work with other writers at a similar stage, discussing and examining the following areas: strong beginnings, strong endings (strong middles!); how to balance constructive feedback from readers with your own sense of what is right for your book; a look at overall structure, chapter structure, and line-level detail; how to know when your manuscript is ready for submission; synopsis writing; how to approach an agent with a water-tight submission package.

Until this course is scheduled, our team of mentors and copy editors will be happy to work with you one-to-one on your manuscript, either by mentoring you to complete your draft, or by offering literary consultancy from overall critique, to submission package assessment, to line-by-line copy editing. Our options can be found on our Mentoring and Literary Consultancy pages.
